Notice of suspension and limitation
of the certificate of Mr. John Lea

NOTICE is hereby given that Mr. John Lea, affiliated real estate agent (Certificate No. C9098), formerly employed by or authorized to act on behalf of Re/Max Royal (Jordan) Inc., chartered real estate broker (Certificate No. A2958), whose establishment is located at 101 Amherst Rd., in Beaconsfield, has been found guilty by the Discipline Committee of the Association des courtiers et agents immobiliers du Québec of the offence summarized below:

1st count: On November 16h, 2006, was declared guilty by the Court of Québec of the following criminal charges related to the practice of the profession:

“Between August 1, 1991 and January 31, 1993, being an agent of a Congregation, corruptly accepted from a third party a benefit, i.e. the sum of one million dollars, as consideration for doing an act relating to the affairs of his principal, thus committing the criminal act referred to under 426(1) a (ii) (3) of the Criminal Code.”;

the whole contrary to section 149.1 of the Professional Code.

On April 22, 2009, the Discipline Committee ordered a suspension of Mr. John Lea’s certificate until November 16, 2011 on this count of the complaint.

The Committee having ordered the provisional execution of the decision notwithstanding appeal, the suspension of Mr. John Lea’s affiliated real estate agent’s certificate is effective as of April 27, 2009.

This notice is given in accordance with section 137 of the Real Estate Brokerage Act (R.S.Q., c. C-73.1).
